Ingrid DonatCommode Maya

Influenced by the natural world and living organisms, Commode Maya is one of Ingrid Donat’s latest pieces of functional art. The bronze exterior of this sculptural work is scarified with an experimental, mechanical pattern inspired by the work of the ancient Mayans. The handles have been hand-molded by the artist out of wax and the leather-clad interior is embossed with the same pattern as the bronze surfaces of the commode, creating a seamless continuity between inside and outside.
